Marginalized Jordanian minorities are more likely to experience poverty and gaps in services. Meanwhile, many residents live below Jordan’s poverty line. The situation of refugee children in Jordan remains precarious, with household savings depleted and employment challenging. Many refugee families rely on international assistance to meet their needs. We should collaborate to help our community by finding solutions and investing in their capabilities. On the other hand, scientific research suffers in the country; There are many factors represented by the weak spread of the culture of scientific research, its low quality, the absence of a culture of innovation, creativity and leadership, the lack of impact of research dissemination on the international scene, and the low return of the results of scientific research, innovation and economic patents. There are also other factors for this weakness, according to a recent study and strategy prepared by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which lie in the lack of interest in the output of scientific research from the beneficiaries, the absence of partnership between the concerned authorities in this field, and the weak coordination and cooperation with these bodies in research and development in public and private sectors. Our project is the first project that has come to include both aspects, focusing on minorities and medical research through many steps those include: visits to the areas suffering neglect and unemployment providing them with courses and trainings that are needed for them to start their small businesses that would gain them money, distributing donations, organizing research courses, researching in those areas that lack medical research output, an international conference about latest medical technologies.
After conducting 20+steps throughout the past months we are proud to announce th launch of the international conference on public health and humanitarian action .

Dr Seita is a strategic thinker with extensive skills and experience on health systems management and partnership in global health. Dr Seita is an effective advocate for the vulnerable and marginalized people under the humanitarian setting. Since 2010, Dr Seita works as the director of health of UNRWA, managing comprehensive primary health care deliveries to 5.7 million Palestine refugees in five different locations, namely Gaza, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and the West Bank. This is a massive operation management in humanitarian settings with 3000 health staff in 141 health institutions and an annual budget of USD 150 million. Dr Seita leads the health reform of UNRWA. He started the introduction of family medicine approach (branded as “family health team (FHT)”) to effectively respond to the emergence of non-communicable disease (NCD) and modernize UNRWA’s decades-old primary health care with the electronic medical records in all UNRWA health centers. During the covid-19 pandemic, Dr Seita lead the UNRWA-wide responses for 5.7 million Palestine refugees and 30,000 UNRWA staff. Dr Seita works effectively with host governments to ensure the access to diagnostic and treatment for covid-19. This has resulted in the full inclusion of Palestine refugees in the national vaccination programmes of host countries without any discrimination. Moreover, Dr Seita managed the continuation of lifesaving primary health care. It is remarkable that all the 141 health centers of UNRWA never stopped their health services. This includes the care for 300,000 NCD patients who received medications from UNRWA, for example. Dr Seita also took innovations 19 including introduction of telemedicine and smartphone app for MCH and NCD care. All these activities are done through partnerships. It’s not only with UN agencies like WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA, IOM and UNHCR. It’s with host governments (Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria), civil societies, and private sectors. For host governments, the full inclusion of all Palestine refugees in their national covid-19 vaccination plans is a recent example. Dr Seita is a strong advocate for the vulnerable people. In UNRWA, he always stays with Palestine Refugees, and took advocacy works. For example, every year, he coordinated a joint event with the Lancet, IFMSA and other civil society to address health and social problem for Palestine refugees, with good audience. Dr Seita promotes research activities. In UNRWA, he managed to publish numerous articles in peer-review journals like the Lancet and BMJ, in collaboration with renowned universities and other partners. He facilitated to grant approval from DFID as well. From 2000 to 2010, Dr Seita was the coordinator for TB, AIDS, and malaria at WHO Eastern Mediterranean Regional Office. He was the regional focal point for GFATM, and effectively led countries’ work with GFATM grants. His experience was extensive as the region included fragile and complex emergency countries like Pakistan, Afghanistan, Yemen, and Somalia. He received numerous international awards for his work in tuberculosis including Princess Chichibu Memorial TB Award for Global Contribution in 2014, and Takemi Life Science Award in 2017. He studied medicine at Kochi medical school in Japan. He was the research fellow for Takemi Programme of International Health at Harvard School of Public Health (2003-2004).
